Comments: WILL NOT WORK ON SX MODEL WITH FOG LIGHTS
1 Your website should state that removal of the front grill is required, which is tricky if you don’t know how to do it.
2 Your website states
a. No-Drill/ Vehicle-Specific Application for Custom Fit
b. Solid frame-mounted bolt-on, no drill installation - WRONG
3 Step 6 (Figure 8) states that a 10mm hole has to be drilled on each side but does not really indicate where the hole should be drilled.
4 Step 5, (Figure 7) says to make holes in the red area of the factory plastic grill but the instructions are in black and white and there’s no indication of where the “red area” is. It also does not state or show where and how big the holes should be. It appears that the lower bracket may come through behind the fog lights though for all models under the SX which don’t have fog lights, there’s no way to determine where the bracket comes through.
So, we spent almost 7 hours installing the brush guard today and that was 3 adults, including a retired aircraft mechanic who builds custom race car engines. And without his help, I’m not sure I would have gotten it on. The biggest issue was having to cut the grill for the upper and lower brackets (the very top bracket that connects to the plastic radiator cover is useless and should not even be included. It can add no support since it’s attached to plastic and looks like crap when the hood is closed). Your instructions say to cut where the “red marks” are but since the instructions are black & white, there’s no way to tell where to cut. But, you really should include a template or measurements as to where to cut. The rubber protection pieces keep falling off until it was finally in place and bolts tightened. They really should have some adhesive holding them in place.
